Argentine Winter Olympics Uniforms

The Challenge

A reimagining of Argentina’s Winter Olympic uniforms through the lens of national identity.

After seeing how strongly many Winter Olympic teams expressed their culture through design, I was surprised that Argentina’s uniforms felt comparatively generic. This self-initiated project began as a simple question: what if our uniforms truly reflected who we are? The result was a speculative design series exploring a more distinctive Argentine visual identity on the global stage.

Concept & Approach

The concept was to reinterpret performance winterwear using symbols, silhouettes, and colors rooted in Argentina’s heritage. I developed the series using Weavy and FLORA, blending contemporary sportswear design with references such as gaucho tailoring, the light blue and white of the national flag, and emblematic national iconography. Rather than creating costumes or nostalgia pieces, the goal was to imagine premium Olympic uniforms that felt modern, functional, and proudly Argentine. Each look was approached as both fashion system and national storytelling device.

Results

The project showed how design can strengthen identity when representation is intentional.

Beyond the visuals themselves, the series sparked conversations around how countries choose to present themselves internationally. It reinforced the idea that sports uniforms are more than apparel-they are symbols of culture, pride, and belonging. For me, it was also a strong case study in using AI tools to rapidly prototype high-level fashion concepts while maintaining a clear creative point of view.
